As a special focus of Zoofari '07, funds were raised to support the construction of a new, year-round Butterfly and Insect Pavilion. This project was reflected in the event's décor and theme "Butterflies Aren't Free."
VGA acted as liaison and provided coordination among the 12 committees working on Zoofari including arrangements and facilities, silent auction, food and beverage and volunteers. VGA worked closely with the event chairs to develop and implement a new format for the live auction including an entertaining program featuring Mary Maxwell, auctioneer Scott Moore and short video vignettes showcasing The Zoo's educational outreach. In addition, VGA developed and implemented a comprehensive marketing and public relations campaign and provided on-site management of the event.
Zoofari '07 came in under budget and raised over $2 million to support the exhibits and educational programs offered by Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo.
